    So Stumpiie told me about a 96 quetz, Im the only one in my tribe online yet I feel confident taking it down myself. After maybe 10-15 minutes after following it, shooting it with tranqdarts my own quetz goes down. I've shot it in the back of its head one too many times. Of course it goes down in a river, and a few seconds later it's dead. I now feel like an idiot and just want to go to bed, but no. This quetz is not winning. I grab our second quetz and head out to find it again. All in all it took me about an hour. But dammit its down and now Im going to tame the shit out of it!

    Shotgunen måste träffa fler kulor för att den ska göra riktigt ont.
    Den gör 494 dmg om man träffar alla 10 kulor (den sprutar ut 10 skott per round)
    Den är bäst på fåglar och inomhus  tycker ja. Ja nya snipern såg väldigt imponerande ut!

    Got some thoughts about how to help out new players joning the server.
    Make Raw Meat, Majo Mejoberry stronger then original.
    Lower the exp needed to get to around 20-25.

    So it turns out that right now the weight of the quetz is a bit wonky. Carrying an ankylo that is smashing metal will not increase the weight of the bird right away. The weight will update after about 10-15 minutes. This is enough time to gather around 1000-1500 metal ore with a high damage ankylo. 
     
    Hulk and I managed to farm 1500 metal ingots in less than an hour doing this, we just farmed on the slopes and foots of the mountins. Also, if you dont manage to get back to your base in time you can drop the ankylo and catch it on the platform, and this will not increase the weight of the quetz. Just a protip!

    Don´t like it either. I do however think its ok to turret your mining base if it´s possible avoid by farming around it so to say.  
    It´s okay to fight people of the mountain to gain some pvp going but putting out turrets is in my opinion bm to new players that try to get some metal. 
    But if we´re doing that now i might just have to craft a rocket launcher.

    Hey guys!
    So I found this reddit post a few days ago, discussing the damage and speed of the new creatures. I found it a really interesting read, maybe you will too!
    For those of you that don't want to read it all, here's the conclusion:
    The Direwolf damage is insane, almost on par with the Rex and Spino. The Toad has low damage but really good torpor, better than the scorpion. The Direwolf is almost as fast as both the Toad and the Stag, My own observations
    The melee damage of the Toad doesn't seem to matter when gathering cementing paste. Starting at 200% melee damage I gathered 2-12 CP, now at 700% melee damage I still harvest the same amount, 2-12 CP per bug.

    Dino Dossier
    This is a strange Dossier, it was found by itself, covered in blood, among a pile of gnarled bones. We expect to have more information over the next couple of weeks as we continue to research the cause of this spooky atrocity!
    ARK Swamp and Snow Biome Update
    Hey guys!
    Just an update on the upcoming mega-patch, unfortunately we will not be able to release it tonight. We are going to be delaying the patch until the weekend. Everyone on the ARK Team is hard at work on it, and it’s nearly ready - we just want to make sure it’s all awesome before we release it publicly.
    We know you guys have been super excited to play it, and it won’t be too much longer, this update is going to add a whole bunch of new content to the game so it’s definitely worth the little extra wait! Here’s another extra peek at what you can expect to see this weekend Smiley wink

    We are very excited to announce our first pass of creature breeding and baby dinosaurs being pushed to the live game! Survivors will be given the opportunity to pair two members of the same species together, even across Tribes if you’ve got a particularly well endowed creature, and the resulting offspring will have random selection of traits from both parents, along with a degree of arbitrary mutation! Your new tiny friends will grow dynamically in real time and will need to be cared for to reach their ultimate potential.
    You’ll be able to selectively breed for your desired qualities and we hope to see some hardcore survivors progressively raising generations of Dinosaurs that have more refined collections of high-end traits than that which could ever be found in the wild - though be warned survivors, as this rewarding process cannot be accomplished with minimal effort. With the dangers that exist in the ARK, incubating an egg and then raising a small helpless baby Dino in real-time from hatchling to adult is no tiny task! Good luck Survivors Smiley wink!

    The Terror of the Deep, also known as the Mosasaurus Suspirita makes it’s way to the ARK! Contrary to popular opinion, the Mosasaurus, not the Ultramegalodon, is the largest creature that lives within the ARK’s vast ocean.
    It is an enormous deep-sea marine lizard that grows over 50 feet long, spending most of it’s time below, only surfacing to breath or chase prey with an engulfing chomp. Due to it’s large size, tribes often opt to build mobile aquatic bases upon it’s back and it’s strength ensures that the Mosasaurus is the most powerful and ideal oceanic escort!
     
    Upcoming Version: v219.0, ETA: October 13
    Another somewhat big update coming to us soon, Babie dinos, big fish and a more powerful shotgun to hunt them with, heres the upcoming patchnotes !

    Smaller fixes, more to come but a much needed buff for the Tranq darts imo, now we can abduct our enemies (or friends) even more easily and this will be such a relief when trying to tame pternadons and argentavis without having to almost kill them everytime

    Posion grenades have been buffed, havent tried this one out yet but i imagine it´ll be nice when you blow that door open to throw some posion gas nades in, especially when we have no gas masks, think scuba gear will deflect this gas?

    My Guess here is that we get something for the guns, havent found much information but i hope and guess that we´ll have a bigger use for the guns that we love to use but dont get to use so much because people tend to get hurt while using them. 
    No confirmation on this what so ever, but i might have missed it. 
    May also just be something more powerful or less damaging then the tranq arrows, we´ll see. 
     
    For the upcoming changes we have some things to look forward to with Creature breeding and some wardrums to look forward to.

    id like to hear from someone that voted for dino lev 120 why they think it will make the game better.
    Same i like to feel afraid whiöe roaming around, but not afraid from beeing pickedup by some jerk on a Argentavis and be defendless.
    Wild dinos should be way stronger then they are atm, there is a mod that makes dinos harder but adds other stuff so maybe not a good idea to use it. but it can't be that hard to make some sort of settings to make wild dinos harder without destroying the balance of the game.

    Very good yet scary input but good information to take in, thanks for the time you put into this. 
     
    Why is it that people want these settings on officials and other servers ?
    This game is going to have some great balancing issues  
     
    Ballistas and turrets that are supposed to be some kind of defense vs dinos will be useless aswell.
    If we make the projectile dmg higher it will be OP vs lower kinds of dinos i assume.(if its even possible)
     
    From my standpoint right now i want to be afraid while roaming the island, i want to have the thrill and excitement to actually have to flee from dinos that are to hard to fight of with my bare hands, i dont get that feeling right now except with Trex and spinos, i dont know how it will be with the higher levels but hopefully it´ll be some kind of challenge. 
    What i dont want is just as you state, the total imbalance of player vs. dino Damage. 
    I said it before, im one of thoose that dont want to be on the back of a Trex while fighting, i prefer the gun battles. 
     
    Im still upp for trying the new settings to see what the fuzz is about, but i would like to know if theres anyway that we can tweak the settings to get more balance, how are settings on other servers?

    Can't be quiet about what will happen to the dinos when we go with lev 120. i just think it will unbalance the game even more. i know it's a alpha game bla bla.
    So here is some info i gathered:
    A lev 120 rex tamed with kibble will get +51 Levels (85.5% Effectiveness) so that beast will start at level after tame 120+51=171! (http://ark.crumplecorn.com/taming/)
    Any animal, once tamed, can be leveled up 50 times (http://ark.gamepedia.com/Taming)
    so lets say you tamed a 120 with kibble and grinded it up to max level 120+51+50=221
    Been forcetaming a few lev 100+ Rexes (yes i know they get 100% Effectiveness)

    49k hp
    1000% dmg
    115% speed
    1380 stamina

    Been taming a few Argentavis here is what i end up with. way to much hp if you ask me.
    Killing a Argentavis with any handgun will be impossible, 
     
    Longneck Rifle
    168 (100% damage) base damage reload 5sec 1615 dmg in the head 25 armor saddle.
    168 (199.3% damage) base damage reload 5sec 1440 dmg in the head 86,8 armor saddle.
    So lets say you get picked up or your friend and you want to try to free him/her.
    You have a 199,3% Longneck Rifle! lets get shooting!
    We have calculated that the Longneck dose 1440 dmg per round in the head on a Argentavis with a 86.8 armor saddle, the Argentavis has lets say 25k hp.
    1440dmg/25000hp = 17.3 rounds to free your friend, takes 5 seconds to reload the gun.
    17 rounds X 5 Seconds = 85 Secs to free your friend. not counting that you might miss or shoot the bird in the leg and the time to aim.
    This calculations are made with a 199.3% Longneck and a 86.8 armor saddle both Mastercraft items.
    Pump-Action Shotgun (200%) vs Argentavis (86.8 armor)

    1040 dmg per round
    Takes 11 seconds  to unload 6240 dmg point blank (with the reload time)
    24 runds to kill it at point blank
    44 seconds to kill it.
