  1. Sending someone into a fight with no gear and a truck boxer to troll someone into KoS is against the rules according to me. It's also lack of RP.

The following "KoS" you had on us is thereby not legitimate according to my interpretation of the rules. I could be wrong of course, and then we'll start doing this as well...seems like a lovely behaviour that can only add to the dynamics of the server.....

  2. Name: *[V] Smutslisa*

    Offender-Name: *[TU] Xeloth*

Reason: We engaged a couple of gas station robbers just as a hunter pulls up. We engage the police and manage to kill one, the other police escape and flee from their vehicle, as we're trying to persue them, [TU] Caden starts circling Hano in a trolling fashion with his vehicle. Hano tells [TU] to leave/stop and continues persuing the police. Later i'm opened fire upon by [TU] Xeloth. Note that [TU] has said absolutly nothing to us in this engagement, the ONLY words spoken was Hano telling Caden to leave.

    Video of the actual RDM:

Video of Cadens engagement with hano : http://www.twitch.tv/hano009/profile/past_broadcasts ( should be up shortly, will be the one

after the one 1 hour 25 minutes 31 seconds long)

  3.

    YES

In theory it could help new players to get some protection.

Well, not only that, it brings some sense of comradery, some sense of civil duty and along with that a lot of new "jobs" that i personally all thing benefit the community

    NO

Bandit gangs (like 99% of all gangs) will abuse it and farm stuff together and be impossible to stop. Who can stop two or more (16+) gangs? Probably only 3 or more gangs which is 24+ players. This will make cvgaming's Altis Life a even bigger war zone than it already is.

I think this is extreamly cynical. First of all, the gangs are not THAT friendly with eachother, many of us can be friendly if we happen to be farming the same thing, but i'd bet my half nutsack that none (i'll say VERY few just for arguments sake) would seek out eachother to take advantage of such a ruleset.

And to add to that it's strictly a DEFENSIVE rule addition meaning there'd be no reason it'd cause more firefights but rather less firefights...the amount of people and gangs that can rob a 7-8 people caravan doing copper is significantly lower than the ones that can rob 1-2 people doing copper...

  4. I think the current rules regarding this should be changed to this:

Co-operation between gangs and civilians is forbidden unless the following criteria is met:

    - You are farming together

    - You are providing security to an area before it's attacked

    - You are doing other defensive things (Talking/Racing/guiding)

This should allow for a safer altis where civilians are able to bunch up and join forces in an effort to reduce robberies. It will also make

for new jobs protecting civilians and on top of that it will make robberies more challenging.

But, the largest advantage will undoubtably be that we're able to keep more of the new players without them quitting in frustration!

  5. Tycker alltid såna här situationer är svårbedömda.

Det är inget tvivel om att du blir skjuten snabbt, och jag är inte så glad i "f***ing" heller under rånförsöket, men blir lätt så när adrenalinet pumpar. Det var förmodligen därför "get on the ground" kom först innan "put your hands in the air".

Dock är det ju inget tvivel om att du vänder dig mot honom med ett automatvapen och skjuter man inte där så dör man själv i 9/10 fall. Hade du velat kolla hade du kunnat använda alt istället och haft ditt på det fria.

    Date: 2015-02-28 - <13:00>

Reason: Me and valleo were flying to the diamondmine to earn some cash. When we get there there's a lot of commotion and we decide to land a little bit back with the mohawk and run up and ask if it's friendly and safe. After them saying yes we fly closer (and CvD leaves) and start mining, out of nowhere we're RDM'd by [W3D] Alex ([W3D]Peder was also present).

Since this is such a clear case of RDM i won't bother typing out what rules were broken as it's so obvious

Short clip (Just the actual RDM):

Long clip (That proves there was no initial roleplay from them):

               Date: 2015-02-16- <21:15>

Reason: Driving in dionysus when we encounter lallish and some other dude standing in the middle of the road. We stop to investigate the situation. Some unknown guy behind a yellow car starts telling us to put down our guns. As we're not stupid we seek shelter behind a truck instead whilst telling/asking him why we should have to put them down. After that shots are fired and we're both killed. Seeing as we had a RDM incident earlier today that we repayed [sC] for i contacted Lallish on teamspeak and told him that if he repayed the stuff all would be forgiven, he declined and this banrequest is a result of that

    Rule(s) in question:

"When you're about to rob someone, you have to give the victim a choice (If the victim fails to comply only then is lethal action allowed)"

  9. ATC’s Race around Altis!

This race will test your ability to control vehicles, navigate around Altis, handle obstacles and think on the fly! And hopefully have a good laugh while doing so!

The team that ends up winning the race there will be a six (Maybe even seven) figure cash price in the end. That along with any goodies donated by our kind gangs and factions of Altis!

The race around Altis will be done the following way

    • A high speed part that measures your ability to control your car at high speeds!
    • Two helicopter part that measures your take off/travel/landing speed and accuracy, along with your knowledge of Altis.
    • An off road part that measures your ability to navigate a dodgy terrain
    • Finishes with a running part where you are to locate an individual after reciving a hint of his whereabouts.

    Rules

    • Each team must consist of AT LEAST 2 players (and up to 4 players allowed). Each player is only allowed to drive/run a MAXIMUM of 2 out of the 4 possible parts of the race
    • You are allowed to bring as many toolkits as you can carry, and should you run out a designated mechanic will be coming to your assistance as soon as possible
    • Should you die (which I’m sure many might do) you are allowed to spawn at the closest possible spawnpoint and drive/run back to the closest PASSED checkpoint or part of track. This means that if you passed the kavala checkpoint and die 2 meters from Amoni checkpoint, you start over at kavala checkpoint!
    • You are NOT allowed to use any of your own vehicles, any indication that you might have swapped vehicle at any point will result in an immediate disqualification
    • In the unlikely event that no one reaches the final stage of the race alive, the fastest time between kavala and sofia wins.
    • You are only allowed to participate in ONE team (A.P.D and N.L.A are allowed to participate with a maximum of 2 teams each)

    How do i join?

    • Upon the acceptance of this event, a secondary thread will be created where you apply with your team will be created in the Altis forum. A link will be edited in here : (XXX). For the big gangs there is an entrance fee of 100k per team that will be added to the prizepool, but for non gang affiliated civs there is no entrance fee.

  10. Obviously there is little love between our two gangs, and that's fine, i think strife adds to the dynamic and fun of the game.

I do not however think that this petty targeting, both ingame and apparently now out of it as well , of our gang is particularly fun.

Rules are broken every day, firing to soon, people having to go because of IRL emergencies etc. Putting up a ban request like this just proves a deliberate atempt of causing some sort of pain towards us. I don't know what set you off in the start, but continue this path and you'll recieve the same treatment back.

Back on topic the terms were set, you had recieved terms of what to do with him from us etc

  11. So you are well knowing breaking the rules by saying "During the last few days we've employed players in TU for added security with great results". I will agree that some sort of escort service would be nice, but don't break the rules on purpose :)

Somewhat, i think the current rule did not have this form of interaction in mind, and banishes it because it's a wee bit to broad.

  12. Hello!

Me and my gang are traders, pure and simple. We move about the world of Altis chugging raw materials and finished goods to vendors and salesmen all over the place, and leave most of the fighting to other people. Whilst doing this we've experienced a tendency to get robbed over and over again which has lead to two things!

    - We no longer trust in the "If we don't arm ourselves they'll let us be" idea we had in the start
    - We've hired outside security for certain parts of the trip

Unfortunatly, this is against the current rules and CoD because gang co-operation and help is strictly forbidden. I would like to urge an addition/alteration to the current rule that looked something like this:

    - Gangs may not help eachother or kill on sight against another player or players, either from a gang or not within a gang UNLESS there is a contract between the two gangs for security or escort. For an escort or contract a few requirements must be met for it to count as valid:

    - Payment must be set and there must be a clear amount of money stipulated
    - Security and/or escort must be decided before something happens ."Come here please, they are shooting at us" would be against this rule.

    - You may not employ more than one gang at any specific time.

During the last few days we've employed players in TU for added security with great results. I'd really love seeing this exception in the rules so that it's OK should something happen (which it hasn't so far)

Reason:  We were going to the salt trader before reset with 300+ salt to sell when we noticed a hellicopter flying above a few times. When approaching the salt vendor, I ([APC] Harrison Jones) and the look out chopper we had above ([APC] Andreas! both spotted that 2 people went out the chopper and were heading towards us. I got back into the Hemet and started rolling away slowly, knowing they would not catch up enough to RP and hoping they'd turn back since they had "missed" their chance and we could actually sell our salt before the server reset, then they shot the tire out without any roleplay what so ever. They fired several rounds (10+) without any mic interaction at all and after a bit they came closer and started talking.

Since I lost more than 1.000.000 on the trade i approached them ingame and on teamspeak and told them that if they repaid what we had lost no issue would be filed, they declined, a heated discussion arose and this ban request is the result of it.

    Video :

(And unfortunatly my mic is yet again not picked up by my shadowplay, sigh, but no communication ingame at all was had with them at any point, only with my gang member in the sky, [APC] Andreas!)

  15. There are countless hours spent into mapbalancing and the last couple of weeks ive been playing (by myself) as a civilian over and over again to nail any imperfections.

I had a blast and everything worked very well, the ladder worked as intended and the cashflow expanded exponentialy (as intended).

It wasn't my intention to make it sound like i wanted prices/routes or anything of that admin nature changed. I think the game progresses very nicely right now financially, infact i even think some of the things make you a little bit to much money but that's just because i'm a grinder, and like grinding for my things. The only admin intended fixes i could possibly think of would be adding a rule that prevents someone from "camping" someone else,  (Robbing someone of everything they have 5 times in 2 days seems a bit over zealous in my opinion, doesn't really support fair play). Another possible "admin" thing could be just like you said, server hosted events of like "free copper tuesday" or "Amnistad hour" to sell the slaves on friday eavnings.

    ( http://postimg.org/image/b5zlvn3x9/ , since i can't do fancy img insertions like you)

But as Altis Life is not ment to be grinded (there is not enough content in arma3 alone to grind it) there is a big gap where we have some people who just robb (because they have everything else). These people have forgotten the core value of RP and are just doing things they enjoy themself w/o thinking of the big picture.

I understand that so might actually be the case, but i cannot change my attitude here unfortunatly. It's impossible for me to not aim or perfection, i see everything in $/hour and lost revenue. I know that's not all that RP of me, but i'd like to see myself as a buissness mogule in the making :). The problem for me has not been the grind though, the last 5-6 days i've been playing arma 3 for 90 hours in total, and still i love every minute of it (and all of it spent on your server playing altis life rpg). The problem is that despite 3 of us actually recieving ingame warnings that we are making "to much money" and that we're setting off red flags with the admins, i have 0 vechicles and 0 cash to show for it. I've been brought down to 0 15+ times. That's not the admins fault nor is it the way the server is structured, it's the players being a bit harsh towards new players. But even here i usually don't complain. Let me illustrate where it goes over the top for me by presenting a scenario:

I've been playing together with 4 other guys in somewhat the same sitaution as us (Meaning, they just started out and are trying to earn the basic vechicles and houses and stuff). What we did was pool our cash together so that we could buy things and work together as a team, first helping one person and then the other so that everyone benefitted and so that we could offer at least some support to eachother (which in the end turned out to be very little vs full geared guys). We've lost during the last 2 days of playing: 1 Mohawk, 4 orcas, 1 samak covered, 2 hummingbirds. That is not counting things we have accidently crashed or destroyed ourselves. Even with that, even with losing 2 orcas myself today due to robberies, me and Andreas set out to farm some heroin, deeming the slavetrade to risky a buissness. We flew over, farmed some heroin and went to process it. When we got there we saw a few figures down at the process plant and decided to send a text saying we were friendly and asking if they were. "You can come process" was the respons we got. Once we landed one of us was immidiatly killed and we were robbed of both vechicle and drugs. This once again brought us down to 0 in both vechicles and cash.

Now, i'm not saying that's something that can be sorted out by coding or tweaking routs or prices. But besides fishing within the safe zone there are 0 times and 0 ways of making money for us to get back on our feet and gangs actually zoning in and targeting us specifically. That seems a bit game breaking to me and hopefully not working as intended

The Cash was never an issue, i always succeeded in getting some cash everyday and made a goal on each and every playsession. But from a gamemechanic view Altis Life is about Cash in/out and RP-scenarios. Atm i felt like it was nailed. if there wasent any robbering that is :P.

Once again i agree with you there. The cash if flowing very nicely in the game and safe and steady you rise upwards, when your vehicle is not stolen from you and chop shopped 5 times in a row by the same guys even though you change what you're trying to make money on. It is also during these lowpoints that the meddling of NLA at the coppermine feels at it's harshest.

I also ran into NLA a couple of times and i did find it an issue with them showing up at the coppermine. Specially when it occures on the same timeframe everyday.

But there have been frequent meetings highlighting that they should not robb people, rather just have a propaganda tour and supply the people with goodies to shine some light on their agenda.

I was running with a new guy at this time and he was amazed to see the rebels for the first time, so in some occasions it gives a positive reaction to the new players but can be a hassle if you are doing copper alot. But its ment as alittle PR mission from the rebels side im sure. But as everyone else, they are not allowed to stay in one area for more then 15min. And i know we spoke about possible escort services in begining of Januari, on the other hand, i do not know if they are providing them yeat ;) (/spoiler).

The current NLA strategy is always the same

1: They catch you doing something that you shouldn't (according to them)

2: They take all your earnings from the thing you're doing

3: Depending on what you're doing, and the number of times you've been doing it, you're punished accordingly, first time they let you off with a warning, the second and third time RP harshness takes place

Now, with that said, I love that there are active factions on the server, i really do. The first time NLA showed up i thought, just like you describe that it was a very interesting event. Feeling that you're hunted down several times a day is not as fun though, and feeling that you can't make any money because a heavily armed, heavily funded guerilla comands you to do things that you just can't is not fun either.

Like i said, i don't even think anything has to change, i think NLA can continue exactly the way they are doing, trying to sway people from the legal stuff and move to the darker avenues of moneymaking. BUT for the money we pay them, and for the obedience to their authority we give, i think they could offer something back. Having days where they organise themselves to supply protection from the grown product to the sales so that you know that you can make some money and really feel that they do "control" an area or a trade would only increase the RP feeling of this liberation army!.

I love that you supplied possible solutions aswell

I like your server, i really do, and i would really like to stay. But it really is getting to me, time and time again we lose everything and there is litterally NOTHING we can do about it unless someone is charitable enough to offer protection for a run or two. And i wrote this post for the players on the server, for them to see how their actions actually affect the metagame and how that directly translates to new players trying to fight their way into the server.

    Reason:

I'd like to start by saying that i can offer very little evidence for what i'm about to state and as such i understand if it does not lead to a Ban. I am however still posting it so that no one can claim "first offense" the next time i post with evidence (Shadowplay is now setup)

KoS on the Cocain field in the south east - After noticing another chopper containing SC we immidiatly fled into our own hellicopter and started it. When they landed we were almost taking off and he was shooting and talking at the same time yelling "stop stop".

    Rule(s) in question =

The red marked areas on the map stands for a illegal area, you may not kill other people on sight ( KOS )

Voice over in direct chat MUST be used during a robbery when giving the victim an ultimatum (Failing to do so is considered meta gaming)

You may shoot from a heli to “disable”. Two warning texts must be sent to pull over with at least 30 secs of time between the two unless a pre-RP situation is in progress.

Killed almost instantly at heroin processing = We noticed people down at the heroin processing plant in the north east, we sent a text asking if they were friendly to which they replied "Come down and process", upon us landing they immidiatly told us we were being robbed and 0.5-1 second after telling Andreas to put his hands up he was shot and killed. A heated discussion regarding that's compliance to the rules followed.

    Rule(s) in question =

When you're about to rob someone, you have to give the victim a choice (If the victim fails to comply only then is lethal action allowed)

  17. First of all, this will be written in English since i want everyone to be able to understand it. If replies are directed at me specifically you may reply in Swedish should you want to.

This post wil be regarding the current meta of the server, what i think is wrong and what i think could change. It will also directly point out flaws and ingame mechanics that are hindering the progression of new characters. Should you disagree with what i've said you can post and tell me why, but i will not reply to random spoutings that are handled in the post itself. Meaningful discussions however is much appriciated.

With that said, let me begin (Against my better judgement i might add since i think the replies here will more be in the line of "if you don't like it leave", but alas we shall see.

Starting out on CvGaming's Altis Life RPG server was wonderful! It was my first time ever playing Altis and to find a Swedish community this large was really sweet. I loved the game from the start because i love making money for some weird reason, but only in games and not real life to my wallets discontent. The system of Altis in general, making money, working for your stuff, buying uppgrades had the same addictive scent as many of the phonegames or webbrowser games (I.E Utopia for those that know wtf that is) i've loved for such a long time, but actually playing it.

Soon i discovererd the alternative side of people though as i was robbed time and time again whilst chugging along my life copper route. I didn't mind this though, robbing is in the game and as such it should be part of the game. It should be a risk that you take whilst playing and something that makes the game more exciting and more dynamic. Shortly after this i had my first run in with NLA, this was at the copper trader and i barely knew my front from my back. So they guided me through how to give up, how to give them my key to my boxer truck, and how to lose everything i had in it. Before this experience i had been robbed a few times, but usually they only took parts of what i had, or left what i had in the truck alone, but this was the first time i lost everything. It was a bittersweet feeling, sweet in the sense that there were active people with agendas on the server, and bitter because i lost everything i had worked so hard for (and avoided robbers finally!). This is where i first expected there to be a systematic flaw in the way the meta worked on this server, but since i was still very new i just let it slide thinking i could probably make money elsewhere, or on their island later on (Albeit it might not be optimal to my hardcore natures displeasure)

Since then, i've learned that it's not just part of part of the servers meta, but actually something that the top gangs aim to intensify even more. This by taking up their own agendas within the roleplay that either aims, or has as a sideeffect, new players being brought back down to 0$ and no vechicles , or close to it. But, instead of simply writing a long ass story about this, i want to go into specifics a bit.

Here are the ways i've tried to make money in the game:

    Apples
    Copper
    Weed
    Diamond
    Salt
    Iron
    Slaves
    Heroin
    Cocain

What's my point of listing all of them here? I just want to show that this is not written after having done one thing and not achieving success. The next thing we can do is make a list of what things are ok with what faction:

    Police are ok with:
All the legal things, such as copper/salt/diamond/iron etc

    NLA are ok with:
All the illegal things, such as weed, cocain, heroin etc

Neither are ok with slaves, and to add to that some gangs have taken it upon themselves to personally make sure that no one does slaves out of moral RP reasons.

Now, let's go through the problematic nature of each of these ways of making money:

Legal ways: The legal ways are actually the safest so far in my opinion. Not that you make any money from it, but at least the people robbing you are usually not as well geared as their drug dealer robbing counterparts, and if you do not give them your key to the car you usually end up keeping it. The major problem here is NLA, NLA activly works to not make people do legal things, i've been held up by them multiple times, losing everything i have (not the vechicle though!) and having to start over. This can happen on any part of the trip (ergo, mine, procesing or dealer) and always ends up with the same thing...losing what you have. But, in all fairness if you go in early in the morning and you are lucky enough to have a good price on copper, you can usually make a few hundred thousand before all the people come online.

Illegal ways: Apart from simply not being as lucerative as the legal options (meaning $/hour, because of a longer distance between mine/processing/dealer and the fee given to NLA for getting in there) you have the same risk of getting robbed at the dealer as the legal counterparts BUT with the added fear that the people that rob you there are usually significantly better geared. This means they have access to lockpicks which means you lose your vechicle.

Slaves: The most bang for the buck i've found so far. If you find your ass a chopper and go back and forth between the slavetrader, you earn about 94k/10 minutes with a humming bird, more than anything else we've tried) The problem with the slavetrader is that everyone has something against it. You have the police that are activly against it, the rebel faction that are activly against it and you have the robbers that you do everywhere else that are out to get your profits. Here you do however have one thing more... some gangs have taken it upon themselves to act against the trading of slaves (RP) and shut down the slavetrade, meaning they set out to catch you doing it.

Still, most of the things said above i agree with, there should be a risk with things and you should have to be sneaky, or work together to accomplish it.

What i do NOT agree with are a few things, and i'll try to list them promptly along with some potential solutions:

The strongest faction on the server, NLA, systematically hinder new players from making money (Since legal ways are the only ways available in start before getting licenses or bigger vehicles). They disrupt the atempt to earn money and offer very little back. They could for example offer:

    - Controlled routes where they protect you against robbers, either all the time or certain times of the day (Meaning it adds a lot to the server dynamic)

    - Certain hours where you could freely farm drugs on their country (I can't set my clock on "No NLA members online")

    - An understanding that new players that only own the cheapest truck or a pick up truck has NO WAY of making ANY MONEY driving all the way down to NLA headquarters for a 60 backpack of weed and a 40 of trunk space

    - Avoidance of CAMPING these places. I don't mind that if they fly their chopper and see a helicopter heading in the direction of the slavetraders they decide to follow, or if they happen to stumble across someone doing copper... but camping these places waiting for someone to show up, or activly going out on a "copper run" i find very disruptive.

    Farm hours!

-Some hours where the server "sleeps" that ould be used as a rob free farming time. for example between 4am-8am or something of that nature.

-Police/NLA/Clan sponsored security along a certain route as a server event or certain hours of the day. This way new players could actually count on making some money! OR it'd be a BIG event if someone chose to distrupt it intentionally, where the focus would be on disrupting the event and not robbing a poor boxtruck of copper.

    - *EDIT* Or at least that you're not allowed to take someone's vechicle during these times, only their money/equipment

    Vechicle loss

    - Really, if someone tells you ingame that they just saved up to buy a vechicle, how can you chop shop it? It hasn't happened to me once or twice in the last 4 days, it's happened 10+ times. Vechicles can be lost in so many ways, accidents, server lag. If you see someone that you "know" is new to the game, either they just have starting gear or they tell you so. How can you take everything they've made even when they offer you to pay "hostage money" to get their vechicle back?

    Systematic gang robberies

    - Some of the major gangs on this server do not rob you when they stumble by you. They set in system to follow you and take everything you have (including vechicles) multiple times in a row. This because they know you are new and cannot defend yourself. The only defense you have against this is to sit your ass in one of the cities and do nothing until they get bored. Seems a bit game breaking to me no?

This is getting a bit TL:DR even for me, and my little finger already hurts from flying chopper so much so i'll stop it shortly...

Out of the around 10 players or so i've met and teamed up with that were in my sitaution (newly started out) only 1 remain, the others stopped playing here because it's impossible to get out of poverty

I like this server, i really do, but how about we take a step in the right direction now and make it so that it's possible for new players to join the server and thus the community without the immidiate NEED to join one of the already existing strong gangs
